"Power for Peace" is stressed by having a well-trained and efficient air defense.  The 120mm antiaircraft artillery guns, as shown in this photograph, were used in defense of major cities throughout the United States.  In this February 1953 photograph, enlisted personnel of Battery D, 36th Antiaircraft Gun Battalion, are undergoing extensive training in an air defense drill on Fort George G. Meade.
