Fort Meade is scheduled to kick-off its Earth Day 2012 Celebration on April 17 at Burba Park. Free and open to the public, this educational and entertaining event for kids and adults of all ages, aims to encourage and sustain green efforts here at Fort Meade and at home. Administrative leave is authorized for garrison employees and tenant units are encouraged to attend.
This year, not only will Fort Meade showcase its internal agencies, offices and methods, but the installation will highlight local community organizations and businesses as they get an opportunity to showcase their green initiatives.
In addition to the many exhibits/events planned for adults, there will be plenty of educational, fun activities for kids.
