Mission
- The Education Staff provides quality services and programs to active duty, retirees, civilians and family members.
- Professional guidance counselors provide a full range of adult and continuing education counseling. Individual counseling is available during normal duty hours on a walk-in basis.
- Counselors are also available to visit units and provide briefings to commanders and service members about education opportunities at Fort Meade.

All briefings are for a maximum of 14 people, walk in only, first-come, first-served. Family members are welcome.

BSEP - Basic Skills Education Program
- Classes are offered as a four-week review program utilizing a computer based review program in conjunction with a traditional classroom instructional format.
- The four-week session meets Mondays-Fridays 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. for computer and classroom instruction (No classes on federal holidays)
- Requirements: Commander Approval, TABE test scores

Testing services
Fort Meade Educational Testing Center is located in the Education Center in Room 108. Testing starts at 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call 301-677-6421 for more information. Testing is available Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tuition assistance
- Cap: $250 per semester hour, $4,500 per fiscal year
- Service member must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Please ensure educational staff can read your handwriting when dropping off or faxing SOUs
- Note: National Guard not mobilized need to contact their unit for TA
