What is ASAP?

The Army Substance Abuse Program is a Manpower Conservation Program, which combines rehabilitation and counseling services, substance abuse prevention education, suicide prevention and urinalysis testing.? ASAP is designed to support the Fort Meade community and to enhance the combat readiness of its personnel and units, by reducing the negative impact of substance abuse.

Who is eligible for services?

All military personnel, DoD civilians and retirees.

  • Fort George G. Meade Suicide Prevention Program

  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
    • Courses are offered monthly. Please contact the suicide prevention program manager at 301-677-7984 for the next available course.
  • The Community Health Promotion Council
    • It is established in accordance with AR 600-63, Army Health Promotion.?It exists to synthesize and enhance suicide prevention, substance abuse and risk reduction program services.? The garrison commander is the chairman of the council. To enroll in the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training program, please contact the suicide prevention program manager at 301-677-7984.
