About RCI
Meade Communities, a partnership between the U.S. Army and Picerne Military Housing, is proud to announce the start of a new era in military family housing at Fort Meade. On May 1, 2002, as part of the U.S. Army's Residential Communities Initiative (RCI) program, Picerne assumed responsibility of day-to-day management and development of the Fort Meade family housing community for fifty years.
Since 2002, Picerne has demolished 408 homes, built over 500 homes and renovated almost 500 homes, and this is just the beginning! Fort Meade is also proud to have two new state-of-the-art community centers. Over the next 6 years, Picerne will continue to build and renovate to assure that all homes will be new or improved by 2012.
