Youth Programs
Fort Meade has a number of activities available for our youth, before and after school and as summer day camp. Kids of active duty military personnel, Department of Defense civilians, Reservists and National Guard soldiers on active duty status and Fort Meade DoD contractors are eligible for the services offered. School-Age Services
1st - 5th Grades

- The school-Age Services (SAS) Program supports working families who are in need of school-age care programs for the elementary school-age child.
- Programs are provided for before and after school, on school closure days, and as a summer day-camp
- The SAS program offers a wide range of activity zones to include
- Games
- Science
- Computer lab
- Homework assistance
- Dance
- Arts and crafts
Middle School Program
6th - 8th Grades

- The Middle School (MS) Program was established for youth of middle school age (sixth through eighth grades) to offer positive alternatives that will help minimize at-risk behavior during parental duty hours.
- The middle school participants design the middle school program with the staff to assure programs are established with the interests of middle school youth.
- The program is held before and after school, on school closure days, and as a summer day-camp
- Activities include:
- Cooking
- Games
- Assistance with homework
- Computer lab workshops
- Various tournaments
Teen Center
9th - 12th Grades

School holidays & Summer, Noon - 8:00pm

- Designed to meet the ever growing needs of the Fort Meade teen population

School of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration & Skills Offices (SKIES Unlimited)

- Provides the framework for instructional programming in the Child and Youth Services system
- Through SKIES, children at all levels have access to opportunities that:
- Expand their knowledge
- Inspire them
- Allow them to explore
- Acquire new skills
- SKIES provides a wide range of instructional programs throughout the year
Youth Sports, Fitness and Nutrition Office
Ages 3 - 17

- Fort Meade's Youth Sports program is one of the largest in the Army
- The program emphasizes fun, fitness and learning skills
- Volunteer coaches are certified through the National Alliance of Youth Sports Coaches
After School Child Care

- After-school program offered from the end of school day to 6pm
